Sadly in January 2007 Wychbold Swan Rescue lost a very dear friend.

Vernon Hackett was a great character, he was always active with a wide range of interests from scrambling to Line Dancing, but as his wife Joyce will tell you his great passion was swans, nothing was too much trouble to rescue a swan in need.  Thank you Vernon for all that you have done, you will be sadly missed by all at Wychbold Swan Rescue.

Spare a thought for John Payne who rescues swans in Evesham and surrounding area.  The year 2007 has not been kind to say the least.  Early on in the year John was involved in a serious road accident.  His injuries meant it was going to be a long haul.  By the time John was fit and back in action he was then to suffer in the floods of July.  However you can't keep a good man down it's great to see you back in action John.
